          Nestled among hundreds of acres of rolling vineyards is the original Kalyra Winery. You’ll be served from the bar featured in the ‘Sideways’ movie, and enjoy browsing the extensive Kalyra Boutique, located next to the tasting bar. Its full-length deck and side lawn offer a fantastic, tranquil picnic spot for your full tasting day as well.

          Brave & Maiden Estate, we take our name from the “Legend of Nojoqui” (pronounced Naw-ho-wee), an indigenous incarnation of Romeo & Juliet. Set at the nearby Nojoqui Falls, the legend recounts the story of star-crossed lovers who choose sacrifice over separation. Inspired by such profound commitment, we’ve created a twofold and ambitious commitment of our own: to craft extraordinary wines and to share them with unforgettable hospitality.

          Our wines are grown and produced under the direction of Consulting Winemaker Paul Hobbs and with the mastery of Winemaker Josh Klapper in the cellar. In our portfolio of wines, you’ll find exquisite Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Merlot, and Sauvigon Blanc. We have also taken on a particular goal of producing world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from Santa Ynez. Our critically acclaimed Limited Cabernet Sauvignon—and our other small lot, black label wines—are available exclusively at our estate to Members and visiting guests.

          Kaena is a boutique winery that sources from Tierra Alta Vineyard and Larner Vineyard in the Ballard Canyon AVA , primarily. Winemaker, Mikael Sigouin, who is part Hawaiian and raised on the Oahu shores, uses a shortened version of his given name for the brand – Kaena – which means “potential for greatness”.

          That “greatness” is evident in the wines – in 2006 Wine Spectator named Mikael one of the top 10 new Rhone producers. Known affectionately by his peers and fans as The Grenache King – Kaena produces 2,000 cases of Rhone & other varietals with an emphasis on Grenache.

          Kaena has been serving up the Aloha in the Santa Ynez Valley for the last three years in the beautiful quaint town of Los Olivos. The vibe is welcoming, chill, relaxed. We feel so proud of our staff we consider them our O’hana, which means “Family” in the Hawaiian language. Our O’hana is knowledgeable, compassionate and just down right fun to cruz with!           Developed in 1999, the Coquelicot Estate VIneyard lies just south of the historic Mission Santa Ines in the Santa Ynez Valley on California’s Central Coast. In 2007 we implemented sustainable and also organic farming protocols with the goal of obtaining our organic certification in 2010.

          Our vineyard crew strives daily to keep our vines healthy and happy and we believe in pushing our vines by applying just the right amount of stress to produce incredible character and flavor concentration in our grapes.           We focus on crafting elegant, alluring Rhone varietals with grapes sourced from extraordinary vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley. We are the boutique in boutique, creating only 1,000 cases each vintage.

          While we began making wine in the garage, we now offer barrel-tasting sessions at the winery along with vineyard tours and Grenache Roadshows for wine club members. The majority of our production is sold through our tasting room in historic, eclectic Los Alamos, California.
