Established in 2005, Demetria Estate is a family owned winery. Our goal is to produce wines of distinction and character rivaling those of the world’s greatest estates. Our wines are artfully crafted to showcase the unique growing conditions of the Santa Ynez Valley and Sta. Rita Hills. We believe that low yields, sustainable and biodynamic farming practices, and gentle winemaking produce wines of exceptional quality.

Greek heritage

Demetria Estate grew out of the desire of owners John and Sandra Zahoudanis to continue a family legacy connecting his Greek heritage with their family’s future. John grew up on a modest family farm at the base of Mount Olympus in Greece. The unparalleled beauty and Mediterranean feel of the Demetria Estate reminded John of his homeland and became the perfect location to carry on the family tradition of farming and careful stewardship of the land.

Dovecote Ranch and Estate Winery

Dovecote Ranch and Estate Winery is dedicated to growing and crafting wines that allow the beauty and character of our land to speak through them. Our 30-year old own-rooted vines and sandy-limestone soils produce small quantities of intensely concentrated cool-climate Rhône fruit. Local daily marine influence slows and extends ripening for uncommon complexity and grace.

Clean Slate Wine Bar – Wine, Beer, and Food

Clean Slate Wine Bar features small production local wines as well as craft beers on tap. Wines and beers rotate quickly, and you never know what you’ll find. Bring your curiosity and come on in to sip something completely new.

Chef Melissa

Chef Melissa is from Louisiana, and her Cajun-accented cooking is so market-driven that the menu changes daily. She creates a collection of small plates and shareable dishes inspired by the freshest ingredients and whatever is currently in season. Come early, before it’s all gone, ‘cause we have been known to run out of food.

Clean the Slate

And when something runs out because the wine was limited production, the farmer sold out of produce, the beer was brewed in a small batch, or the local fisherman only caught so much, we “clean the slate” and start fresh. There’s always something new to try.

Since we opened, we’ve built a reputation as an inviting spot to experience the best of California Central Coast’s food and wine. Come and join us and hang out for a while.

No reservations necessary. We’re walk-in only. No time limit on tables, we want you to hang out and enjoy yourselves.

Grimm’s Bluff Estate

Grimm’s Bluff Estate is a Demeter certified Biodynamic farm perched on the cliffs above the Santa Ynez River in the Happy Canyon AVA. The mineral driven wines draw flavors from ancient river stones along with the rich valley sunshine. Gobelet trained vines, aging in concrete eggs, and traditional winemaking are used to express the distinctive terroir of this breathtaking site.

Biodynamic & Organic

Planted to virgin soil, Rick and Aurora Grimm have been fully committed to Biodynamic & Organic practices in the vineyard, orchard, and animal pastures from inception. The 246 acre ranch is completely run on solar power with beautiful barns and workshops made from Forest Stewardship Council certified cedar.

Tasting Room now open in Los Olivos! Private tours and tastings at ranch by appointment only.
